Gran Canaria Airport is a very popular aerodrome - the largest in the Canary Islands - hosting more than ten million holidaymakers each year. Due to its perfect weather conditions, the airport is open 24 hours a day year-round. It is an alternative landing site for the Space Shuttle. It is also a hub for Binter Canarias Airlines.

Road: Taxi: Taxis are available from stands outside the Arrivals areas of all three zones. Bus: There are frequent bus services between the airport and the capital, as well as other destinations on the island. Bus no.60 runs to Las Palmas for Parque de San Catalina and Parque de San Telmo. Money and communications: There is a bank on the ground floor of Zone A and ATMs on the first floor. There are bureaux de change in the EU Arrivals hall and in the check-in halls on the ground floor. There is a post office in the International Arrivals hall. An Internet café is situated after security on the first floor of EU Departures (Zone A).
Eating and drinking: There are coffee shops, bars and fast-food stands on both the Arrivals and Departures floors; a 24-hour deli is located in Zone A (before security).
Shopping: Shops at the airport include a duty-free shop, clothes shop, sportswear shop, toy and sweet shop, several gift shops, a leather goods shop, a florists, a jewellers, a clothing accessories shop, an electrical goods and music shop, and a mini supermarket.
Luggage: Lost property offices are located in all zones (tel: +34 (0)928 579 130).
Other facilities: There is a 24-hour medical service, a pharmacy, baby rooms, a children’s play room, a chapel and several travel agencies and tour operators.

There are no hotels at the airport although the four star hotel Vecindario Aeropuerto Gran Hotel (tel: +34 (0)902 172 182) is situated five minutes south of the airport. Other nearby hotels include the Reina Isabel, Tryp Iberia, Quality Hotel Fataga, Hotel Concorde, AC Gran Canaria, Santa Catalina Hotel and the NH Imperial Playa. Hotel reservation desks can be found in the Arrivals hall.

There are lifts and ramps in the terminal for disabled access. Disabled parking spaces are provided on each level of the car park. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.

A conference room is located in the corridor connecting the International and the EU check-in halls. The Sala Galdos VIP lounge is situated on the terrace of the second floor, above the EU Departures lounge; there is also a press lounge on the first floor between Zones B and C.
