City overview

The beautiful riverside city of Limerick in Ireland is well worth a visit.  It’s a historical city with castles, medieval fortresses, museums, parks, art galleries and markets.  Many holidaymakers choose to book flights to Limerick to get an authentic feel of what Ireland is all about.  The majestic Shannon River is the ideal location to take a relaxing cruise offering spectacular views of King John’s Castle, Thomond Park and St. John’s Cathedral which was built in 1861.  For something a little different why not go on an organised guided tour to learn about the history of this wonderful city?  There are various tours on offer such as walking, train, bus and boat which help to bring folklore and heritage to life.  When out on a tour of the surrounding towns and villages, have your camera at the ready to capture glorious photos of the breathtaking Ballyhoura Mountains, the scenic Golden Vale as well as the stunning Shannon Estuary.  You’re sure to have plenty of time to meet the friendly locals on your travels while enjoying delicious home-grown food washed down with a refreshing pint of Guinness.
