1. PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION ARE ENCOURAGED There’s no shame in showing the world how much you love someone, in fact the French encourage it. Everywhere you look in Paris there are lovers holding hands, kissing and embracing. Throw your cares to the soft Paris breeze, forget about who could be watching and make-out with your better half in the open-air. It’s fun, no? 2. SPLASH OUT OR STICK TO A BUDGET On a budget or looking to splurge? Visiting Paris can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. With so many stunning parks and alleyways to explore, gorgeous architecture to admire and plenty of cultural sites to see, Paris offers a plethora of experiences to suit all budgets.

3. IT’S A GREAT BASE TO EXPLORE NEARBY TOWNS

Paris is Paris, and nowhere else can compare, but if you need a short break from the hustle and bustle of a big city take a day trip to a smaller town. The train network in France is fantastic, connecting visitors to handfuls of picturesque towns within a couple of hours. Escape for the day to Versailles, Fontainebleau, Rouen or Lille and experience a little more of this romantic country.

4. LOVE LANGUAGE

Fall in love all over again with your partner as they try to emulate the French accent with daily Bonjours! Mercis! and Au Revoirs! Even if it’s not that good, it’s still cute, right?

5. AFFORDABLE FINE DINING They say that food is the way to a man’s heart. If that’s true, then there’s no better place to take your new husband than the City of Light. For Michelin-starred cuisine at an affordable price, book a table at Restaurant Auguste, L’Agapé or Passage 53. 6. EVERYTHING IS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS Paris is a big city but it’s also quite compact and very easy to get around. This means that you can forget the stress of organising a Paris itinerary, and just enjoy the fact that everything is within walking or metro-reach. Less worry equals more loved-up times.

7. STAY IN TRUE OPULENCE

It might not come cheap, but indulge with a night or more at a romantic Paris hotel with all the trimmings and you’ll feel like royalty. For five-star service and stunning interiors with a superb location try Shangri-La Hotel Paris, ‪Saint James Paris – Relais et Chateaux or Le Royal Monceau-Raffles Paris.

8. NIGHTS CAN BE AS LOW-KEY AS YOU WANT

Not interested in fine-dining or attending fanciful shows? That’s okay. Paris offers so much in the way of romantic evening strolls. Link arms with your loved one and wander the cobblestone lanes of Montmarte or along the banks of the Seine.
