It’s right there in the name – over the past few years, London has experienced phenomenal growth in craft beer drinking and production, and the new Craft Beer Rising festival, back for its second round this year, is here to celebrate the plenitude.

The festival is set to take place, appropriately, at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, East London from February 21st – 23rd. Unlike beer festivals of yore, though – dominated particularly by older drinkers with a preference for real ale above all else – Craft Beer Rising skews younger, ushering in a new generation of beer lovers who are interested in the source and quality of their brews.

As part of the festival, upwards of 60 different breweries hailing from across the UK (and from Italy, the US, and beyond) will set up stalls in the cavernous space.

In addition to the multiple tastings on hand at every booth, bands and DJs the likes of Mr Scruff will provide a live backing track to the events, while a series of lectures and classes will educate attendees on different aspects of beer culture.

And of course, no beer festival worth its suds would forget the food. Expect burgers by Burger Bear, schnitzel from Fleisch Mob, and other fare perfect for sopping up pints.

Craft Beer Rising lies at the heart of London’s beer zeitgeist. If you want a taste of what London is drinking, then, don’t miss this celebration of all things sudsy.
