Leeds Bradford Airport lies about 8 miles northwest of Leeds city, which can be accessed by a variety of public transport options. Bradford and Harrowgate are also easily accessible, and lie about 8 miles and 12 miles away respectively.

Rail

Flying Tiger bus services link the airport with the major rail hubs of Leeds Railway Station and Bradford Station Train Station plus Harrogate Bus Station. For details please see Bus and Coach information below.

Bus and Coach

The Flying Tiger service operates a regular service between Leeds Bradford Airport and Leeds Bus Station and Leeds Railway Station on the 757 line.

The earliest bus from the Airport is at 5:05 am and the last final service departs at 12:35 am.

From Leeds Railway Station the first bus to the Airport is at 4:04 am, with a final service departing at 11:26 pm. The journey takes about 30 minutes.

Without a pre-paid Metro card  a daily adult ticket can be purchased from the driver for £5.50.

Flying Tiger also operates the 747 line between the airport Harrowgate and Bradford City. Other operators services West Yorkshire include West Yorkshire Metro.

The buses include free Wi-Fi and power sockets.

Taxis

The official Arrow Cars taxis operate a 365 day service from the rank directly outside the terminal building. Each taxi can carry up to five passengers (some can carry up to eight). All are able to take wheelchair passengers.

You can reserve a taxi by calling +44 (0) 113 258 5888. The cost to/from the rail station in Leeds is around £20 and takes about 30 minutes.

Uber

An Uber X fare from Leeds Bradford Airport to central Leeds will cost between £13 and £17, the journey taking about 30 minutes in light traffic.

Passengers can expect a similar fare from the airport to Bradford Interchange.

Terminal Information

Check-in areas are located in Hall A and Hall B of the main terminal. The airport is open 24 hours.

Liquids

Liquids may only be carried in containers holding 100ml or less. They must be carried separately in a single plastic bag which is:

  • Transparent and resealable
  • No larger than 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in)
  • Able to close properly with all the items inside

Liquids in containers over 100ml will not be permitted through security. You will need to pack them in your hold baggage instead.

Baby Milk and Medicine

  • If you are travelling with a baby or infant, an exception to the above rule will apply, but you can carry only what you need for your journey.
  • The same applies to liquid medication – you can only carry what you need during the course of your flight. All medication should be accompanied by documentary proof of authenticity, such as a prescription or letter from a doctor.
  • Liquid medication that is not required on the flight should be carried as hold luggage.

A free 24/7 Wi-Fi service is available throughout the terminal building and can be accessed through any internet-enabled mobile device, laptop or tablet using “LeedsBradfordAirport_Free_WiFi”. The first time you use the service you will need to enter your details.

Toilets can be found throughout the terminal building and all have disabled facilities.

Baby changing facilities are situated alongside the toilets on the first floor near the inter-faith prayer room, and on the ground floor departure area near the smoking lounge.

Assisted Travelling Through Terminals

If you require special assistance while at the airport please inform your airline at least 48 hours before you fly. It is best to give as much notice as possible both for your outbound and return journeys.

There is an OCS special assistance desk is located on the Ground Floor Departures and can be contacted on 0113 391 1607 or via email on leedsbradfordairport@ocs.co.uk.

Lost and Found

Lost property found in the airport, whether landside or airside, can be handed in at the airport’s Information Desk in Departures Hall A.

The Information Desk is contactable between the hours of 6am and 11pm each day. You can also call 0871 288 2288.

For enquiries regarding lost mobile phones, you will need either the IMEI or SIM card numbers. These can be obtained from your network provider.

Lost property is stored by the Information Desk or deposited in the Finance Department’s safe and can be claimed for a period of 8 weeks from the date of loss. Currency can be claimed up to twelve months from the date of loss.

Luggage Trolleys

Free baggage trolleys are provided in many areas around the terminal building – in the car park, terminal forecourt, check-in area and baggage reclaim hall.
