The journey from Newcastle Central Station to Newcastle Airport takes around 25 minutes on the Metro. There are trains every 12 minutes from approximately 5.44am (Sundays 6.27am) to 11.58pm.
Travelers planning on using the Metro to get to the airport from Newcastle Central Station, should use the Metro station under the train station and board a train on the green line heading for the Airport station. More info about fares can be found here.
Bus and Coach
Bus numbers X77, X78, X79 run between Newcastle (Eldon Square) and Ponteland. The bus stop is located on B6918. For bus times click here.
Taxis
Official airport taxis operate a 24-hour, 365 day service from the rank directly outside the terminal building. Each taxi can carry up to five passengers (some can carry up to eight). You can reserve a taxi to the airport by calling +44 (0) 191 214 6969.
The cost to/from the city centre of Newcastle is around £20.
Uber
An Uber service from Newcastle Airport will cost between £11 and £15 to the city centre and should take around 25 minutes in light traffic.
Parking Fees
Newcastle International Airport lies in the North East of the city on the A1 which bypasses the city centre and leads directly to the airport.
If you plan to drive to the airport, long stay parking fees start from £8 a day for a duration of 16 days or more. Short-stay options are also available.

The check in areas at Newcastle Airport are located in the main terminal building.
Liquids
Liquids may only be carried in containers holding 100ml or less. They must be carried separately in a single plastic bag which is:
- Transparent and resealable
- No larger than 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in)
- Able to close properly with all the items inside
Liquids in containers over 100ml will not be permitted through security. You will need to pack them in your hold baggage instead.
Baby Milk and Medicine
- If you are travelling with a baby or infant, an exception to the above rule will apply, but you can carry only what you need for your journey.
- The same applies to liquid medication – you can only carry what you need during the course of your flight. All medication should be accompanied by documentary proof of authenticity, such as a prescription or letter from a doctor.
- Liquid medication that is not required on the flight should be carried as hold luggage.

Free Wi-Fi is avaliable for 45 minutes. You simply have to log in, and your details will be saved for future visits.

The Aspire airport lounge and the British Airways Lounge offer refreshments and provide a wide range of services and entertainment including free Wi-Fi and drinks, business facilities, newspapers and magazine. The prices for access to the Aspire lounge are as follows:

The British Airways lounge is located downstairs in the departure lounge, and is available to all British Airways full-fare ticket holders, Executive Club passengers holding Premier, Gold or Silver cards, their franchise partner airlines and their One World Partner airlines.

Newcastle Airport has an arcade called Namco Games which has arcade games, air hockey tables and crane machines.
Smoking Lounge
Newcastle is a smoke-free airport, although smoking is permitted in designated areas outside the terminal building. The use of electronic cigarettes indoors is also prohibited.
After security, The Beer House and Bar 11 both have outside smoking areas.
Prayer Rooms
The Newcastle Airport multi-faith prayer room is open 24 hours a day and is located on level 2 of the main terminal building. Prayers for the airport community are said on Fridays at 12.35pm in the prayer room.

Toilets can be found throughout the terminal building and all have disabled facilities.
Baby changing facilities are situated throughout the airport as well. Two can be found before security and two air-side. They are all clearly signed and located alongside the toilets.

Assisted Travelling Through Terminals
Passengers who use mobility equipment, such as scooters and electric wheelchairs, are able to remain with their equipment up until it is time to board the aircraft.
If you require special assistance, you will need to pre-book this service with your airline or tour operator at least 48 hours before departure or arrival at Newcastle Airport. Assistance will be provided free of charge to and from all arrival points to the departure gate. If you wish to check in the mobility aid and use an airport wheelchair then please request this at check-in.
Lost and Found
For queries related to property left in and around the airport terminal including car parks and on-board the aircraft, you will need to contact the airport Lost Property department:

You will need to leave your name, telephone number and a full description of your lost item or items on an answering machine. Messages are retrieved daily, but the airport staff will only return your call if they have identified your property.
A £7 administration charge will be made to collect any found items. Collection times are between 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00 Monday to Friday only. Property will be held for three months.
