Welcoming nearly four million passengers each year, Rhodes Diagoras International Airport is the fourth-busiest airport in Greece, and a convenient entry-point for those looking to access the gorgeous coastal resorts of Ialissos, Kremasti, Kritika, Sotoni and Theologos.

Cheap flights to Rhodes Diagoras Airport are harder to find in the summer months (May-August), when hundreds of chartered planes arrive from European and Middle Eastern destinations – so if you’re operating on a tight schedule, be sure to book early.

Whether you’re a culture buff, seeking out the site of the Colossus of Rhodes (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world) or whether you’ve planned a more reptilian approach to your time abroad (lie in the sun all day and move as little as possible) – Rhodes Diagoras Airport will be a pain-free first port of call on your big Greek adventure.

Getting into Town

Bus: A public bus service connects Rhodes Diagoras Airport with Rhodes Town. Tickets cost €2, and the buses depart from the airport at the following times every day: 6.50am, 9.45am, 10.45am, 1.40pm, 4pm, 4.40pm, 7.10pm, 7.50pm, 8.25pm, 8.50pm, and 11.05pm. You will find the buses about 300 metres from the terminal building, to the left of Exit 1. The journey into Rhodes Town should take about 40 minutes.

Taxi: Readily available outside the terminal building, taxis are an easy way to get to and from Rhodes Diagoras Airport. Fares should be metered, but if the taxi has no meter, agree a price before getting in. Typical destinations include Afandou (€30), Faliraki (€25), Ialyssos (€21), Kalithea (€25), Kiotari (€48), Kremasti (€15), Lardos (€44), Lindos (€48), Pefkos (€44), Rhodes Town (€22 for a 25-minute trip), Tholos (€19) and Vlycha (€44).

There is short- and long-term parking available at Rhodes Diagoras Airport, in the form of a parking garage located right opposite the terminal building.

Information Desks

There is a new and improved tourist information desk, located near the arrivals section of the main terminal building. If you need help organising a taxi or a bus from the airport, speak to them, and they’ll help.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: A bank, ATMs, and bureaux de change are available at Rhodes Diagoras Airport.

Luggage: Luggage lockers are available at the airport. There is a lost-and-found office in the baggage reclaim area.

Conference and business: There are no formal conference or business facilities at Rhodes Diagoras Airport. In a pinch, you can ask at the information desk if you need to copy, print or fax a document.

Other facilities: Tourist help desk, medical facilities and basic facilities for disabled passengers (currently being upgraded).

Wi-Fi: Not currently available.
