Have you ever been in a hotel and overheard another guest ask a member of staff an absolutely ridiculous or outrageous question? Well, as it turns out, bizarre enquiries aren’t all that rare.

The budget chain Travelodge has 523 hotels in the UK, and they reckon they get around 200,000 strange queries a year. Here’s a list of the 10 most bizarre things they’ve been asked this year…

London… “Is it possible for the changing of the guard to change days?”

Brighton… A practising Voodoo priest insisted that his room face the sunset so that he could pray naked to it.

Inverness… “Can you tell me when the Loch Ness monster comes out so we don’t miss it?”

Stafford… Referring to his pet jaguar, an American man asked, “Can my cat stay?”

Fulham… An elderly guest requested a bikini shaving kit.

Birmingham… “Can we land a helicopter on the roof of the hotel?”

Newcastle… A guest called the receptionist and asked for a bedtime story.

Edinburgh… “Can we keep 20 sheep in your car park whilst we stay in the hotel?”

Heathrow Airport… “How can I cross over the M25?”

Portsmouth… “How many pets can you bring in on the pet policy? I have three dogs, nine cats, two budgies and a tortoise, oh and four children!!!!”
