Burning rubber, jumping through glass, tumbling down stairs… trotting the globe to stand in for the A-listers – the life of a stunt performer is never dull. Always on the move, they need to be able to get to their film locations quickly, easily, and in great shape.

Meet Jacob
The star of the Cheapflights TV ad, Jacob Tomuri, is a New Zealand native whose big-screen work can be seen in everything from The Hobbit to Legend. The 36-year-old Tomuri is also Tom Hardy’s official Hollywood stunt double. That’s right, he is the hunk behind the hunk in the blockbusting Mad Max: Fury Road and current hit, The Revenant.
Since those early days, Jacob has focussed on refining and upgrading his craft by training in a number of disciplines from horse riding to martial arts, including krav maga, karate, kung fu, capoeira and kickboxing, via gymnastics, scuba diving, archery and weapons handling. Such dedication is, he says, critical for anyone looking to establish a career in the profession: “Just train, train as much as you can. Upskill. Do as much as possible because you never know what kind of situation you’re going to be in.”
