Coventry Airport will not appeal against a High Court decision preventing the regional hub from constructing a new terminal.

The Warwickshire-based airport had its appeal to build a facility capable of handling two million passengers annually turned down by the executive body in October last year.

However, in response to this decision the airport has decided to transform a part of the existing terminal into a luxury area for business passengers, with work expected to be completed in April 2009.

Brian Cox, the airport’s director, expressed his excitement at this development. He said: “Coventry Airport has always been popular with the business traveller due to its location at the heart of the Midlands, giving accessibility with a speedy and quietly efficient service.”

Coventry Airport is situated in the centre of the country’s motorway network, making access to the M6, M40, M42, M1 and M69 relatively easy.
