Bag Tag … baggage tracking now available

There’s nothing worse that arriving at your destination only to find that your bag hasn’t. In a bid to prevent this, Delta Air Lines has rolled out a new bag tracking service which will allow passengers to track their baggage once it’s been checked in.

Domestic travellers will be able to check in their bags using a Bag Tag number they’ll receive at the check-in desk. As the bags are scanned as they move through the journey, customers will be able to use laptops or smartphones to check that their baggage is on track to land at the same time as they do.

Delta SkyMiles frequent flyer members can arrange to receive alerts about their baggage – they will receive a text message telling them if their bags have not made it onto the flight.
