First Choice Airways Check-in

Airport check-in at least two hours prior to departure. For travellers with pre-booked seats, check-in is 90 minutes before departure. Day before check-in is available at Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham airports (hours – 12pm to 10pm).

First Choice Airways baggage allowance

Hand luggage: one small item per person weighing less than 5kg with maximum size of 55 x 40 x 20cm can be carried onboard the aircraft.

Checked luggage: For package holiday passengers the baggage allowance is 15kg per person. Premier holidays passengers may check-in 20kg.

Flights-only passengers do not have a free allowance. Up to five pieces of luggage may be pre-booked and prices start from £30 per bag (return) on short-haul routes, £32 per bag (return) for mid-haul routes, and £50 (return) per piece of luggage on long-haul flights. The total allowance is 20kg.

Excess: Rates range from £12 (short and mid-haul flights to Spain, Portugal, the Balearics, the Canary Islands, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco for example) to £17 (long-haul flights to Caribbean, Mexico, Brazil, Kenya, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, India, Gambia and USA). There’s an additional 2 per cent charge for paying by credit card. No single piece of luggage may exceed 23kg.

First Choice Airways legroom

Seat pitch: short haul – 71cm (28in), long haul – 84cm (33in), Premium Class – 91cm (36in).

Pre-arranged seating

Seats are allocated at check-in, but can be reserved too for a fee. Extra legroom seats can also be reserved.

Passenger change details

Changes can be made via the Manage My Booking page. There are fees, which are explained during the process.

Child fares

Child discount fares are offered and vary depending on the specific travel arrangements. For infants under two years of age on the date of their return flight, a charge of £29 (or £60 for long-haul flights) applies. Seats and In-flight meals are not provided for children under the age of two.

Carrying musical instruments

Standard baggage allowances apply. A separate seat can be purchased to carry a large or fragile instrument with advance approval from Reservations.

In-flight service

Meals and drinks are available to purchase on shorter flights. The meal service on long-haul flights (seven hours and longer) is complimentary.
