Travellers passing through Heathrow’s Terminal 5 will now be able to try some tasty French treats thanks to the opening of the new Ladurée patisserie.

The famous French bakery has set up a fairytale coach-shaped stand in Terminal 5 to match the one it has at Paris Orly airport. It also has two other outlets in the UK. Over 30 million passengers a year pass through Terminal 5, flying to and from European cities, as well as further afield between destinations such as America, Abu Dhabi and India.

Ladurée customers will be able to enjoy the brand’s signature dainty, pastel-coloured macaroons in numerous shades and flavours such as pistachio, vanilla and rose. Cupcakes, chocolates and other baked goods are also on offer to tempt travellers.

Ladurée is one of the best-known makers of macaroons, which are currently the most fashionable cake around. In fact, the French brand sells 15,000 macaroons every day.

Chris Annetts, Heathrow Head of Category for Food and Beverage, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Ladurée. Ladurée macaroons are world renowned so where better to offer people the chance to enjoy these bite-sized treats than Heathrow, which flies more people to and from the world’s biggest cities than any other UK airport.”
