The new routes will see almost 3,000 passengers travelling to the new easyJet destinations this half-term, according to the airline, with an extra 100,000 seats available from London Stansted on an annual basis.
“We’re delighted to be seeing these three new routes take-off from London Stansted. This latest expansion sees us adding two mid-haul routes, to Marrakech in Morocco and Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh from London Stansted for the first time,” said Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager.
“We’re giving our customers from this region an easy and affordable way to explore the delights of two beautiful and culture rich cities in Northern Africa and the capital city of Bulgaria.”
One-way flights from Stansted to Sharm el Sheikh, Marrakech and Sofia are available from just £86.99 and £30.99 respectively, including taxes, and the prices are based on two people travelling on the same booking.
The airline has also recently announced that it is launching the first direct flight between London Southend and Edinburgh from May 2.
The announcement of the six times-weekly service comes ahead of the airline’s addition of a seventh aircraft to Edinburgh Airport next month, as well as the launch of new routes to Reykjavik, Hamburg, Berlin, Copenhagen, Prague and Dubrovnik.
“We’re thrilled to be announcing our first Scottish route from London Southend directly to the city of Edinburgh,” added Mr Aitken.
“We’re making it extremely easy and affordable to visit the city or extend the journey further afield to other parts of the Lothians and Scotland by cutting the travel time to less than half compared to a train or car journey from the region and presenting our customers with great value.
Flights on the new London Southend to Edinburgh route will start from £27.49 one way per person, based on two people travelling together.
