Concorde could be making a return to the skies thanks to a group of former pilots.
Club Concorde, which has been founded by ex-pilots David Leney and Jock Lowe, hopes to restore and fly at least one of the legendary planes as a private heritage aircraft.
Three Concordes based overseas have been identified as possible targets for the programme.
Paul James, the club’s president, told The Western Daily Press: “Our aim is to reach an agreement with one of the custodians, whereby we would provide the finance to refit the Concorde to airworthiness specifications.
“Our plan is to relocate the Concorde to an operational base within the UK at one of ten potential new sites. From existing statistics, we calculate an operational base will attract about 600,000 visitors a year.”
