The festive season is just a few months away, and where better to celebrate all things Christmas-related than in the place that Santa calls home?

Visitors have been visiting Lapland, a region that stretches across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia, for generations to get up close to Father Christmas and his army of busy elves.

Visiting the region offers the chance to take a thrilling sleigh ride courtesy of Santa’s loyal legion of reindeers.

A stay in Lapland also adds a touch of magic to any romantic celebration, whether that’s an engagement, honeymoon or anything in between.

This December, Santa’s Lapland is offering new two and three-night holidays, particularly suitable for loved-up romantics, with accommodation for two in a luxury suite. The suite includes a private sauna and the opportunity to search out the Northern Lights.

Couples will stay in the Geilas Wing of the Hotel Tunturi in the heart of the village of Saariselka (Finland), north of the Arctic Circle.

There are a range of action-packed activities on offer, including a romantic reindeer sleigh ride and husky dog sled ride where lovebirds can snuggle up under fur blankets and a snow scooter safari.

Guests also have the option of spending a day in a snowy woodland, where they will be whisked off via snowmobile for a private meeting with Santa himself.

For partners who are planning to pop the question on their trip, Esprit’s Santa’s Lapland can arrange for Santa to present an engagement ring, marriage proposal or special gift during a private meeting in his traditional log cabin.

A two-night package costs from £834 per person, based on two adults sharing. Departures are available December 1-23.

The price includes flights, transfers, half-board accommodation in a suite with sauna, a full day’s activities in a snowy woodland and a private meeting with Santa.
