With fresh snowfall comes fresh travel advice. As of 3pm on Tuesday, 21 December 2010, the following airports are either closed or experiencing delays and cancellations.

The advice for passengers due to fly today and over the next 48 hours is to call the airline they have booked with and to allow plenty of time for getting to the airport.

AIRPORTS CLOSED DUE TO SNOW:

City of Derry Airport The airport is currently “closed in fog” and passengers are advised to monitor flight status and contact their airline for specific information. www.cityofderryairport.com

FLIGHT SCHEDULES ARE DISRUPTED AT THE FOLLOWING AIRPORTS:

London Heathrow Airport is experiencing severe disruptions and is operating at a third of its normal flight schedule. Passengers are advised to monitor their flight status and consult their airline before leaving for the airport. www.heathrowairport.com / @HeathrowAirport

London Gatwick Airport has some delays and cancellations due to the adverse weather across the UK. www.gatwickairport.com / @gatwick_airport

London City Airport faces delays, cancellations and other disruptions. Passengers who do not already have tickets are asked not to come to the airport as it is already dealing with a substantial increase in customer traffic. www.londoncityairport.com
