Welcome to the seventh instalment of our #FF or #FollowFriday feature! Each Friday, we’re listing five Tweeps we think will satisfy your hankering for travel inspiration and wisdom. Be sure to let us know if you find them helpful. And if there’s an account you think we ought to be following, please do share it with us.
Continuing our trend for sharing the feeds that will help you get the most out your next big city trip, this week we’re focusing on Miami.
Remember, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles have recently received the Cheapflights #FollowFriday treatment – be sure to check them out if you haven’t already.
@Miamicom Miami.com is the definitive site for nightlife, restaurant and event listings in the city. Use the site’s companion Twitter feed as a filter and discover the content that is most useful to you.
@The305 Be warned, The305.com is unashamedly aimed at men – features like “Honey of the Day” are clearly not going to suit every reader’s tastes. Dismiss it not though, because alongside the trashy, demeaning stuff is a pretty decent blog centred on Miami music, food and events. Like Miami.com, use the site’s companion Twitter feed as a filter – just try to ignore the background wallpaper.
@Miamitude If you’re going to call yourself Miamitude and declare “I Am Miami”, you sure as heck better deliver. While its regular references to happy hour at 3.05pm are a little tedious, Miamitude does strike the right note with Miami oriented news and events, and the odd funny observation.
@miamicheap Haven’t you heard, there’s a recession going on?! Miami on the Cheap brings together deals and discounts available in Miami in one helpful spot. If you carefully monitor their feed before travelling you’ll be set for a bunch of savings on eating out and events.
@MiamiTips The name says Miami Tips, and that’s exactly what this feed gives. We wish every city had an insider feed like this! It comes into its own in times when you’re stuck for ideas on where to drink, party or simply chill in the sun.
Be sure to follow @Hg2 for intelligent, irreverent and inspired travel advice.
