The web might’ve become the world’s best source for travel inspiration (naturally we’re biased on that front), but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way of stumbling upon new ideas and opportunities.
Travel expos and shows remain an excellent way of discovering destinations, places to stay and things to do that you might otherwise never have encountered.
This week, London’s ExCeL exhibition and conference centre has not one, not two, but three travel-oriented shows running alongside one another.
The Active Travel Show, The Outdoors Show and The London Bike Show are to take place from January 17-20.
An adult ticket, which costs £16 if bought in advance (£20 on the door), gives access to all three expos.
As well as the usual information stands run by tourist boards, tour operators and activity providers, the shows will feature a number of interesting talks from renowned travellers.
Notable speakers include Charley Boorman of Long Way Round fame, and mountaineer Kenton Kool (proof of nominative determinism if you ask us – the guy’s summitted Everest on no less than nine occasions!)
