With the London Olympic Games now just over a month away, the official Olympic Torch is continuing its mammoth journey to all corners of the UK.

The iconic flame left Scotland for the final time this week, and is slowly making its way southwards to the opening ceremony in London on July 27.

Entering its sixth week, the Flame is staying in the North with visits to towns and cities across Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

With numerous torch-bearers set to carry the flame from town to town, as well some special evening celebrations along the way, next week is sure to be an eventful one for the relay. So, where is the flame going next week?

Sheffield

The flame will touch down in the iconic Steel City on Monday, after travelling across Yorkshire from Leeds.

With a vast array of galleries and museums, not to mention the largest theatre complex outside of London, Sheffield is one of the most cultured cities in the UK.

The hometown of Jessica Ennis, Britain’s Olympic sweetheart, Sheffield will be hosting an Olympic Torch celebration on Monday night.

Cleethorpes

After an overnight stay in Sheffield, the Flame will make its way west to the popular seaside town of Cleethorpes on the Humber Estuary.

A town with a long and colourful history, Cleethorpes has been a favourite among holidaymakers for many years.

With its traditional seaside promenade, as well as the beautiful surrounding countryside, Cleethorpes and nearby Grimsby are just as popular now as they’ve ever been.

Lincoln

After leaving Grimsby, the flame will head south along the Lincolnshire coast, visiting more iconic seaside towns including Sutton-on-Sea and Skegness.

It then travels inland, through Boston and on to the cathedral city of Lincoln. With a history dating back more than 2,000 years, Lincoln blends tradition and modernity in perfect measure.

There will be an Olympic Torch celebration on Wednesday evening, before the Flame makes its way across the country.
