Peak season:
There isn’t much of an off season in Vietnam so unless humidity bothers you, you can usually find flight tickets for any time of the year and not be disappointed. The north of the country is cool and dry from November to April so you can escape the UK winter and find some cheap flights to Vietnam. Summer runs from May to October and although the weather is very hot, there are also heavy rains that sweep the country. It’s very similar in the south of the country although the wet season lasts until November.
Off season:
The centre of the city typically sees heavy rains from December to February so if that puts you off consider a different time of year. You might be able to find cheap flights to Vietnam then though and generally the weather is still hot and humid. Christmas is a very family-orientated time of year as is Tet, which is the Lunar New Year in February.

If weather is an important factor for your trip to Vietnam, use this chart to help with planning. For those seeking warmer temperatures, April is the ideal time of year to visit, when temperatures reach an average of 30.0 C. Travellers hoping to avoid the cold should look outside of January, when temperatures are typically at their lowest (around 26.0 C).
Make sure to book your flights to Vietnam early in advance to avoid having to overpay. You’ll have the best chances of finding the cheapest flights to Vietnam during our summer, which is essentially the wet season in Vietnam, although it will still be very humid. Pre-planning and securing your flight tickets 2, 3 or even 4 months in advance will give you a higher chance of saving money on flights to Vietnam and if you can be flexible then you’ll find deals easier to come by. Try to avoid school holidays and festivals as these will really drive up the cost of your flight tickets.

This particular Delta Air Lines flight may not have met your expectations in terms of the food served on board. It appears that the portions were smaller than anticipated and the side dishes were minimal- no salad, no bread rolls, no fruits. Perhaps there are ways in which the airline could improve the dining experience for their passengers. Why can't Delta offer better customer service when other non American airlines are able to do it?
